We have to pass on the sad news that our friend and fellow club member Ray Mowll has died after a long illness. He was 67.
Ray first joined the club some 20 years ago when he enroled his sons James and Jon in our coaching programme and soon became a valued part of the club membership. He managed and coached several of our youth teams and was alway there at our volunteer events such as working parties and NatWest Cricket Force.
In recent years his failing health limited his involvement but he was often seen encouraging his sons and their teams from the boundary.
Ray's funeral will be a private, family event. If you would like to send flowers they should be delivered to 348 Great Baddow Road, Great Baddow, Chelmsford. CM2 9RA by 09:00 on Monday 7 February. The family will post charity details if you wish to make a donation instead of flowers.
We and the family will organise a memorial event at the club sometime in the summer.
