Match report Winning the toss and batting first, our hosts got off to a flying start with Z Khan in particular making her intentions clear and scoring quickly. But our bowlers stuck to their task and some very miserly bowling from Georgie, and then the wicket of Khan who was superbly caught by Molly M off the bowling of Amy H, saw the run rate fall. However, Hrusa and Hassam continued to bat steadily for the hosts until Hrusa was caught off the bowling of Lauren P and Nasim joined her at the crease. The last few overs saw a flurry of boundaries, upping the run rate once again until Nasim was caught - again off the bowling of Amy - and the hosts finished on 208.
Coming out for the chase then, we also got off to a very good start with Amy in particular scoring at a decent rate. Their first change bowlers, however, bowled a superb line and length that we just couldn’t get away and 16 overs of extremely tight bowling saw wickets fall and the run rate plummet. We kept going to the end, determined to deny them full bowling bonus points but finished a good 40 runs short, despite two very good partnerships at the end, first with Boo and then with Molly M, two of our youngsters who had stepped up to complete the team and ensure we had a game. Georgie finished on 56* - which was exactly the same score she finished on last year in the same fixture!

Thank you to all players who changed their plans and made sacrifices to enable us to get a team out today. We managed quite a few bonus points so your efforts were not in vain!
