Hutton Cricket Club Won By 1 Run

Match report U15b won their first game of the season by 1 run in a high scoring tight finish game.
On a warm Friday evening team captain Luis Cotton won the toss and decided to Bat first on a very dry and hard pitch with a fast outfield.
Chris Bolton and George Nash opened the batting and put on 28 for the first wicket off 4 overs to give the team a solid start before Nash was out for 8 and was quickly followed by Keval Suchak bowled for 1.
Bolton was then joined by Luis Cotton who hit a quick 15, including a lovely 6 into the trees, before also being bowled.
Bolton and Aaron Read put on 44 before Bolton was out for an excellent 70 and then Read for 22. Chris Skingley and Tom Henton pushed the total beyond 150 to finish on 152 for 5 off 20 overs.
With the shock of a team managed by Mark Henton getting over 100 and Tom Henton and Keval Suchak taking early wickets there was maybe a slight complacement approach to the Old Brentwoods innings. Ellis Critchell and Suchack reduced them to 36 for 4 and victory seemed on the cards till OB's put on 88 for the 5th wicket, Read returned to the attack and took the vital wicket but OB's still kept up with the run rate and the game hang in the balance going into the final few overs.
OB's needed 21 off the last two overs and scored 15 off the 19th over needing only 5 off the last over to be bowled by Bolton. 4 runs were taken off the first two balls and heads dropped, but Bolton bowled 3 dot balls with OB's needing 2 runs to win off the last ball, but the ball was hit back to Bolton who calmly took the bails off and claimed the run out and victory in the gloomy light.....

Man of the match was Chris Bolton - 70 not out and bowling 2 overs for 8.
Special mention for Luis Cotton who excelled in his captaincy, ensuring everyone had a bowl or a bat and keeping his head in the final over.
Also to Chris Skingley for excellent keeping only conceding 1 bye.
