Hutton Cricket Club Won Hutton 139 for 3 Springfield 87 for 7 - Hutton win by 52 runs

Match report First Cup Game (ie normal rules of cricket not terrier)of the 2011 season for the U11a side.On winning the toss Hutton elected to bat on a hard wicket and even harder outfield which produced some unstoppable shots throughout the game. After a solid start from Freddie Balmford and Max Cotton (24 a great knock)in tricky conditions the score progressed nicely under the guidance of Charlie Burridge (15),James Scammell (20 not out) and Matthew Scammell (21 not out).After an amazing last over that produced 21 runs with Matthew Scammell hitting 4 boundaries the score ended up with 139 for 3 wickets.
Although short on numbers Springfield put up a tough fight but could not cope with the great bowling from Freddie Balmford and Matthew Scammell who took 2 wickets apiece for only 8 runs. Max Cotton/Charlie Burridge and Shrey Suchak bowled steadily and took 1 wicket each between them.Matthew Hills bowled very economically and was unlucky not to get an LBW on two occasions !! With Ruben Wantling (one maiden over) /Matt Bell/Nick Saunders/Edward Penney seeing out the overs remaining Springfield hung in there to finish on 87 for 7 wickets.Special mention goes to James Scammell who had a great time behind the stumps on a very uneven playing surface.Yet again a great all round batting/fielding performance which made the early alarm call all worthwhile!!
