Match report Hutton 11A vs Springfield 10th June - Hutton win by 70 runs

A far closer match with a battling Springfield than the end result suggests. Although Hutton won the toss and elected to field the oppostion were in good shape after 8 overs with 232 runs for only 2 wickets both taken Max Cotton (capt).Matthew Scammell was very sharp in the field and also bowled well conceding only 9 runs off his two overs. Then the fireworks started with another 2 wickets one apiece for Matthew Hills and Charlie Burridge.Ruben Wantling then came on and took an amazing 4 wickets in two overs for only 3 runs conceded with Sam Saunders scooping up another 2 wickets for no runs off the bat!! By now Ruben was in the groove picking up another wicket to finish 5 for 3 runs off the bat-a great individual performance.Max also picked up 2 more in the final over finishing with 4 for 5 runs. With the fielding job done Hutton really only had to hang on to their wickets and victory was won but Springfield didnt stick to the script and with some spirited bowling had us on the ropes 219 for 6 after 12overs.Noah Andrews deserves a mention here for an opening knock (on his debut) of 23 not out ably supported by George Graver.Hutton with 8 overs remaining then had to batten down the hatches with Freddie and Max batting solidly without losing a wicket which set the stage for James Scammell and Charlie Burridge to score 21 and 18 in the last four overs to secure a well deserved win
