Match report On a damp pitch in blustery but bright conditions the U11A continued their winning ways against a very young but promising Billericay side.Hutton batted first and after surviving a batting wobble due to the tough conditions built an impressive score of 255 for 7. Valuable contributions from Noah Andrews (16) and James Scammell after Fred and Max had survived the opening attack. With the ship stabilised Matthew Hills (4 not out) and Ruben Wantling (3 not out) protected their wickets well to set up Matthew Scammell (11 not out) and Charlie Burridge (15 not out).Matt Bell and Sam Saunders increased the score without too much damage to set up a good total to defend.
Billericay started well but soon succumbed to the bowling of Matthew Scammell and Noah Andrews (one wicket apiece for very few runs). Max Cotton bowled extremely well with 4 wickets ( a 3 wicket maiden over the highlight)and took a great catch.Matthew Hills again bowled economically with a good two overs (a maiden and one wicket)
Sam Saunders and Ruben also picked up wickets for very few runs.Charlie (2 wickets)with a great caught and bowled and Freddie and Matt Bell also contributed with again very little runs conceded. Special mention should be made of the fielding which included a sharp stumping from James Scammell who kept superbly and his brother Matthew who took one of the best catches of the season so far at close range.Run Outs from Noah and Matt Bell completed a fantastic fielding display.
