Hagger Hundred Hauls Hutton to Handy Win



A good all-round performance from Hutton against Wickford took them to fifth place in division two.

Having won the toss and chosen to bat first in difficult conditions Hutton posted 261 in their 50 overs thanks to an innings of 116 from 143 balls from Hutton vice captain Daniel Hagger and a later contribution of 48 from wicket-keeper Alex Tredgett. The two came together at 118-4 and put on 129 for the fifth wicket in 17 overs to rest the iniative away from Wickford with rain in the air.

When Wickford's innings came to a halt for rain after 23 overs with Wickford 112-4 and were unable to resume their innings Hutton by virtue of a higher run rate. Hutton managed to keep the runs down by taking wickets regularly and restrict Wickford's scoring with Mitch Fenn (1-40) and David Carpenter (3-31) making the breakthroughs that were to eventaully prove crucial.

The result leaves Hutton fifth in the Shepherd Neame Essex League Division Two and just three points below next week's opponents Hordon-on-the-Hill.
