Match report There was much anticipation at the Polo Fields for the first Southern Counties game of the season, with Hutton Ladies making their debut in this league. After losing the toss Rosie and Poppy opened the bowling and kept the visitors quiet with 2 wickets falling for just 30 runs. The next 8 over spell was a superb example of quick, accurate bowling by Grace and Georgie M with 4 wickets going down for a meagre 10 runs. With only 9 players, the visitors had just two wickets remaining which fell to an outstanding direct hit runout from Lydia and then the final wicket from Jazz coming on to bowl her first over. All of the bowling was superb - as was the fielding - resulting in the visitors being all out for 43. Defending 43 was always going to be a tough job and although Hutton generously lent 2 fielders, it wasn't enough to stop the clean striking of openers Amy and Grace who had nearly all the runs between them before Grace departed in the 6th over. With Lydia joining Amy at the crease the innings was finished in the 8th over with no further loss of wickets. A superb job done by the Ladies in their first Southern Counties Match.
