Ollie Gray 1982 - 2025

We at Hutton have had the most unhappy news that our good friend and fellow club-member Ollie Gray has died after his long struggle with cancer. He was only 43.
Ollie joined Hutton in 2016 and quickly became a popular and valued club member and team-mate. He scored 2,400 runs for the club and was 4th team skipper from 2020 to 2023. His enthusiasm and good humour were best seen in that first year when he played a major role in keeping the side going during the during the Covid epidemic. He led the side from the front as an opening batter and in 2023 was top run scorer with over 400 runs at an average of over 50. He passed on his enthusiasm for cricket to his son Harry and his friends and brought his love of the game to the All Stars and Dynamos programme.
However, the statistics and cricketing achievements don’t tell the whole story of Ollie. He was simply a lovely man who played cricket. He was a family man, devoted to Liz and Harry. He loved sport, his cats and chatting about cricket or West Ham over a beer. He had a word and a smile for everyone he met. The world was simply a better place when he was around. He will be much missed.
We send our love and deepest sympathies to his wife Liz and son Harry.
Tributes to Ollie as well details of his funeral and donations that can be made in his memory can be found on his Much Loved page.
