Match report Hutton Challengers put in an excellent performance with the ball and bat to beat Upminster on a cool and overcast evening at Upminster Park. Having won the toss we elected to field first and some good bowling and fielding restricted the home side to 107 for the loss of 5 wickets. There were a few more extras than we would like, but overall the bowling showed an improvement over previous games and is at a good standard for this early in the season. With a good target to chase Rosie and Harriette went about their task quickly, both scoring over 25 to retire not out. We saw our first six of the season from Harriette – hopefully the first of many. Amy and Grace followed, scoring well to finish the innings off, winning the game on 109 runs with the loss of no wickets. A special mention goes out to Rosie Hills who not only batted well, but also bagged four wickets – two bowled and two exceptional run-outs from near the boundary rope – a great performance. Well done girls!
