Match report Batting first, Hutton got off to a very good start with Lydia and Amy at the crease. Positive running saw the girls counter the excellent bowling of Colchester until the departure of Lydia - caught off the wall by the superb L Clarke. After this the runs slowed a little but the girls batted valiantly and a late flurry at the end saw Hutton finish on 64 for the loss of 3. Defending 64 against the calibre of Colchester was never going to be easy but, superbly led by Captain Lydia, the girls bowled and fielded well, saving every run they could and preventing Colchester's hard hitters from getting away from them. Scoring just 55 off the first 9 meant 10 were required from the last over which Amy bravely stepped up to bowl. It was a nail biter that seemed to swing one way and then the other until H Cheek was caught by Rosie saving a certain 2 runs and leaving them with 4 to win off the last ball. Keeping her nerve, Amy bowled a straight one that Charlotte didn't allow to reach the wall and although the batters ran two, Hutton claimed the win by a single run and a place in the semi final. Fantastic team effort and stunning result for the Challengers but well played both teams for a highly entertaining match.
