Match report Losing the toss and being put into bat, Hutton got off to the worst possible start losing two wickets before the end of the third over. Erica then joined Georgie at the crease and the girls set about rebuilding. Batting cautiously to start with against some very straight bowling, the pair took 11 overs to reach a score of 50 but the longer they stayed at the crease, the more confident they became with Erica in particular getting into her stride. Having never scored a club 50 before, there was much jubilation when she raised her bat but that wasn't enough for her and she went on to score a massive 161* with 27 boundaries in a record partnership of 273 with Georgie, who supported well and rotated the strike, scoring her own half century in the process. Finishing on 283 for no further loss of wicket, the girls took a well earned break before setting about the defence of such a high score. The bowing and fielding effort was outstanding from the home team, with wickets, runouts and catches all shared around including 2 in 2 for skipper Jo, a superb runout for Rosie and yet another caught and bowled for Annette. North London batted valiantly and lasted until the 26th over but the result was never really in doubt and the final wicket fell with the away team more than 200 runs adrift.

A good result then for the ladies but a big thank you to North London for such a friendly game with much humour (especially Miranda!) and graciousness in defeat. We are quite sure it will be a much closer game when we play the return fixture at Crouch End later in the season and look forward to seeing you again then.
