Match report Losing the toss and being asked to bat first, we opened with Erica and Suzanne, the latter hitting a lovely boundary 4 off her very first ball faced after being out for several weeks with an injury! Maldon has a good bowling attack though and showed great determination in the field so scoring freely wasn’t easy and at the half way mark, despite retirements from both Erica (27*) and Lauren (26*) we had just 101 on the board. A defendable total nevertheless - but we knew we would have to bowl well to avoid our visitors winning both legs of the league this season. And bowl well we did! All the bowlers bowled economically with a good line and length and Maldon found it even more difficult to score than we did. An outstanding spell from Georgie saw her take 6 wickets for just two runs which meant that Maldon scored an uncharacteristically low 27 and the game was up in the 12th over.
