Match report This was a total team performance by the Hutton girls and a real pleasure to watch. The batters all scored freely and every batsman got well into double figures. Just two wickets down at the end of the innings, Hutton had posted 149 which looked like a tough ask for the hosts. Five overs in and four wickets down, this looked more like impossible than tough, prompting Wells to ask to bat an extra player. In the spirit of playing a good game on a great day, Hutton agreed and the hosts were able to pick up runs and make a respectable game of it. However, Hutton girls were on top form in the field as well as with the bat and despite the extra batter and playing last man standing, the hosts were unable to get anywhere close to Hutton's mammoth total and when Sam Whetstone took the final wicket with 5 balls still to play, it was all over - Hutton were deserved winters of the inaugural Martin Davis cup. This was a complete performance from the team with energetic fielding, great keeping and wickets shared around, including 3 from Anisha Gunatilaka (who was also superb in the field) and one from U11 stand in player Grace Manek.
